WHO IS COUNCIL SERVICES PLUS?

Council Services Plus (CS Plus) is a wholly owned, licensed insurance marketing subsidiary of the Council of Community Services of New York State (CCSNYS). CCSNYS, a 501(c)3 nonprofit, is a statewide nonprofit membership organization dedicated to strengthening nonprofits and the communities they serve. CS Plus was created to offer nonprofits in NYS access to insurance and employee benefits with special emphasis on understanding the needs and requirements that many nonprofits have. For over 35 years CCSNYS has administered health insurance for its members. CCSNYS currently manages over 7 million dollars in health insurance premiums for several different carriers. CS Plus can now bring that service and expertise to nonprofits that wish to get their health insurance directly from the insurance carriers.

 

WHY WORK WITH COUNCIL SERVICES PLUS?


The NYS Community Rating Law regulates health insurance rates for all groups of less than 50 (and most groups over 50 as well). The rate you get from Council Services Plus is the same as the insurance company’s rate, so the decision becomes one of service more than price. It cost a company nothing extra to work with a health insurance broker, so having this additional resource for questions makes sense. Make sure that the broker you choose can demonstrate knowledge about health insurance and can provide you with the assistance and information you feel you need.
